No oldtimer festival at the 'Ring

Another great event for classic cars in Germany has been cancelled. The event was enthusiastically presented at the end of December to take place in middle of May. Though, due to problems attracting enough entries organiser DAMC 05 decided to pull plug for the first time in 27 years.

It's another great blow, certainly for the classic car community in Germany to see this yearly event go down the drain. After the cancellation of the original Jim Clark Revival at the Hockenheimring (see other news post) the Oldtimer Festival is another spring racing meeting cancelled. The Jim Clark Revival has found a new place at the Lausitzring near Berlin though and another event in the 'spirit' of Jim Clark has been planned to take place at the Hockenheimring.

Let's hope there will be no more problems with events cancelled this year, but who knows? The whole of Europe is now starting to feel the real consequences of the global financial crisis and soon many racers might not be able to enter all the races they want. As they simply don't have money..
