It's time again for the Retromobile sale at the Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles. 7 February is the date for this Bonhams auction and what a line-up they have achieved. From exquisite Ferraris to Bugattis and even a tricycle!

The auction is not only cars but a large number of automobilia pieces will also go under the hammer, which is interesting for those with not very deep pockets. Sadly though, most of the 22 automobilia items are actually (hideous) cast mascots, statues or whatever you want to call them. Frankly I can't see the connection with cars at all with some of them.

More interesting is one of the first car lots; a 1957Talbot Lago T14S with an estimate of €50,000 to €80,000. What an absolute beauty of a car this is, one of 54 cars built it features a 2.5L engine and tubular chassis. It just begs to be driven straight to the French riviera and mingle with other glamorous coupes of its era. Funnily enough for a car at such a prestigious auction it does need some work as the synchromesh on 2nd and 3rd gear have seen better days. But, it's totally original and for 60k it will be an interesting proposition.

Other interesting cars include the €1.6 million estimated Bugatti type 18 'black betty', a 1953 Panhard DB coupe which looks excellent and a very different entry to historic racing and also some wacky promotional vehicles with look like rather extravagant ice-cream vans. Also there is a 70s Camel cigarettes promotional vehicle which literary has camel stuck onto the back.

Got interested then have a look at Bonhams' pages for this auction at:  http://www.bonhams.com/cgi-bin/public.sh/pubweb/publicSite.r?sContinent=EUR&screen=catalogue&iSaleNo=17043
