40 years and exactly one day ago the world first clapped eyes on the new Porsche 917. It was big, it was fast and it was more impressive than anything that came out of Zuffenhausen before it. In the year's following it beat just about every race car on just about every track all over the world. It showed Porsche the way to go.

Audi Tradition’s annual programme for 2009 is centered on the Audi centenary. More than 50 events have been planned. Two dates are especially significant: on 16 July 2009, exactly 100 years after the company was established, Audi is inviting guests to a commemorative ceremony in Ingolstadt; Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel has already agreed to attend. Not to be missed by every enthusiast and friend of the Audi brand: the largest historic motor sport event in the world – the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England, where Audi will be putting in a special appearance as ‘featured marque’.

Skoda has built an interactive website to celebrate the company's long (but not very well known) history in making cars. Sadly for people who don't speak German it's not very interesting as the site is only offered in German at the moment. Still, one can still look at the nice pictures accompanying the written articles.

The 'Messe Stuttgart' hosts the 9th 'Retro Classics', one of the biggest classic car gatherings of Germany. 100,000 square metres has been allocated to enable the visitors to view a massive amount of nostalgia from 13 to 15 March. The exhibition is even divided in several themes which should all emphasise a particular feeling. From racing cars to cars from the begiing of the last century. It's all there plus several special displays, among them an impressive collection of Abarth cars brought by Abarth itself. Which is no doubt a good marketing gag for the new Fiat 500 Abarth..

Fifth Gear TV's Vicky Butler-Henderson chatting with Jaguar owner.We never really thought about it, but apperantly there is quite a market for adapted classic, sports and high performance cars tailored to the needs of disabled motorists. Obviously, these people are just as passionate as the non-disabled and because of that, the British 'Mobility Roadshow' is calling onto owners of such cars to come and visit the event at Kemble Airfield in June. To share experiences about their passion.
